TMS PTO Mission Statement
The mission of TMS PTO is to aid the students, faculty and staff of The Museum School of Avondale Estates in their educational and recreational needs. Through fund-raising and family activities, TMS PTO will promote open communication between faculty, parents and the community to enhance the educational environment of children attending The Museum School.

Annual School Picnic - Friday, May 3rd (Rain Date - Friday, May 17th)
Join us for our Annual School Picnic Celebration on Friday, May 3 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Avondale/Willis Park across from the school. The picnic is free for all to attend with lots of food, bounces houses, snow cones, and popcorn for all to enjoy. Bring a blanket to enjoy a family movie under the stars, featuring Disney’s Wreck It Ralph. Movie will start approx around 8pm. In the event of inclement weather, the picnic will be postponed and rescheduled for Friday, May 17th (same time, same place, same schedule). Check back for updates.
Volunteers are still needed to help make the picnic a success and run smoothly. Volunteer hours can be earned, to get a jump start for next year sign up click here.
The picnic has become an annual tradition for the PTO to say thank you to all of our wonderful teachers, staff and volunteers for all of your support throughout the year. Please join us as we'll have a special awards ceremony to recognize some deserving people and to kick off National Charter and Teacher Appreciation week.
2013 -14 PTO Officer Nominations - We Need your submissions!
It's PTO Board election time! Nominations are being accepted thru Friday, May 3rd. If you know of someone you feel would serve well as a PTO Board member, click on the survey monkey link below to place your nomination or you can fill out the paper form that will come home in your child’s explorer folder next week.

Self-nominations are welcomed and encouraged. We are looking for individuals that have leadership qualities, are reliable, energetic and committed to assisting the school in a variety of ways. The following positions are available: (note all positions listed are a 1 year term with the exception of the treasurer who serves for 2 year term). Current PTO Officers can serve for more than one term for the same or different positions with the exception of the President and Vice-President. President Vice President Membership/ Committee Coordinator PR/ Communications Parliamentarian Secretary Election results will be announced at the May General PTO meeting/ Kindergarten Musical on Tuesday, May 21st.
2012 - 13 Yearbooks: Don't forget to customize your pages by May 3rd
Don't forget to capture your memories in this year's Museum School yearbook. The TMS PTO is now taking orders for the 2012-13 yearbooks that are on sale for $20 each. To make your yearbook even more special for your child each family can customize two personal pages in their book for them. The deadline to customize is Friday, May 3rd by midnight. If you miss the customization no worries you can still order a book by May 17th in order to be included with the TMS shipment. Teacher Appreciation Week Reminder - May 6th - May 10th
Parents, please be on the lookout for more information from your room parents on Teacher Appreciation week activities and events. Volunteers will be needed for various projects.
IXL Math/ RAZ Kids Membership Student Enrichment Programs
We have had a lot of interest in this fantastic program opportunity. Be sure to join the PTO and take advantage of the member rate. Both programs, IXL Math and Raz Kids are $15 per child for PTO members. The standard IXL yearly membership is $79 and Raz Kids is $80, so this is a $145 dollars savings per year. Both award winning programs that have proven success rates to help your child excel in both math and reading, which are the crucial foundations to academic success.
